DIY to Save Phalaenopsis Orchids...So Simple Glass Water Bottle Hack!

Transforming Phalaenopsis orchids using a simple glass water bottle hack can significantly enhance their health and longevity.

This method leverages hydroponics, allowing orchids to thrive without soil, which can lead to root rot.

Materials Needed Phalaenopsis Orchid (from a supermarket or online) Narrow Neck Glass Bottle (available at stores like Target) Bamboo Chopsticks Cool Water

Remove the Orchid: Gently take the orchid out of its ceramic pot. Be careful with the roots, which may be entangled in bark and soil.

Prepare the Roots: Remove any moss surrounding the base and carefully detach the roots from the plastic cup. Trim any damaged or dead roots.

Insert into Bottle: Fill the glass bottle with cool water and place the orchid roots inside, ensuring they are submerged while the leaves and flower stems rest on the bottle's neck.

Support the Plant: Use bamboo chopsticks to stabilize the orchid, preventing it from drooping. Maintenance: Change the water monthly. Allow the orchid to air dry on paper towels for a day to prevent root rot before refilling the bottle with clean water.
