How to Make Homemade Raccoon Repellent

Ingredients 1 large spray bottle (cleaned and rinsed) 2 quarts of fresh water 1 teaspoon of mild dish detergent

1 bottle of Tabasco sauce (or any hot sauce) 1 small container of ground cinnamon 1 small container of ground cayenne pepper

Instructions Mix the Base: In the spray bottle, combine 2 quarts of fresh water with 1 teaspoon of mild dish detergent. The detergent helps the solution adhere to surfaces.

Add Spices: Pour in the entire bottle of Tabasco sauce, followed by the ground cinnamon and cayenne pepper. These ingredients create a strong scent that raccoons dislike.

Let it Sit: Allow the mixture to sit for a day or two to let the spices infuse, enhancing its effectiveness.

Application: Spray the solution generously around the perimeter of your property, focusing on areas frequented by raccoons, such as trash cans, garages, and under porches.

Reapply Regularly: To maintain its effectiveness, reapply the repellent every three to four days or after heavy rain.
